The Northern Berkshires are a hotbed of creativity and culture.
In 2014 policy mic rated North Adams, MA as number 2 on their list of 15 Best Cities for Creative 20-Somethings Other Than New York. North Adams, a former industrial center and mill town tucked away in the Berkshires, is home to painting, photography, pop-up performances and one of the largest contemporary art museums in the world MASS MoCA.
Along with an array of local shops & restaurants – a jaunt downtown will uncover galleries, murals, artists working in temporary studio spaces, a collective of young creatives and on the last Thursday of every month from June to September – DownStreet Thursdays brings life to the streets through exhibition openings, performances, revelry and a night market featuring locally created goods.
