The Berkshires has long been home to internationally recognized cultural contributors to the arts. Residents have included Daniel Chester French, sculptor of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC, and American illustrator, Norman Rockwell. Many well known artists now make their homes in the Berkshires and the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art, located in North Adams, is one of the worlds largest contemporary art museums and a major player in the international art scene . Located within 3 hours of Boston and New York City, this area attracts summer residents, vacationers and weekenders by the millions throughout the year.

Downtown North Adams will again host Downstreet Art. 34 visual arts destinations include Gallery Haiti, showing the work of contemporary Haitian-American artists. DownstreetArt.org
